“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”. - Gandhi I spent the day with Tracy (SARA society for animal rescue and adoption) who is currently caring for 1,000+ animals. People literally drop off old and sick animals for her to care for. Many of these animals are up for adoption, but most will live their lives on the sanctuary. I was blown away by the love of this woman and the fact that she knows EVERY name of the animals that live there. CURRENTLY they are going through something that would bring the hardest of hearts to their knees. A land owner near SARA is mutilating their animals and leaving their body parts on her land. Being that she is in the middle of nowhere, her GOAL is to move to Marfa, Texas where she already has land that is ready for her and her animals. Here, Tracy and her animals will be able to be in a better and safer environment as well as be near more people that could volunteer to help the sanctuary. It will cost her $500,000 to transport and move all these animals and get set up in the new sanctuary. I am going to do everything in my power to help this woman and am starting with the goal of $50,000. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help in our quest to help animals.
